Cookie Policy
What we store on your device, why, and what you can do about it.
GreenMining uses a small number of cookies and browser-storage entries. We use them to keep you signed in, to protect your account, and to remember your preferences — not to track you for advertising.
No advertising or tracking cookies
We do not run advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your browsing behaviour with advertisers or data brokers.
1. Essential cookies
These are required for the Platform to work. They cannot be switched off without breaking core functionality such as signing in.
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| session | Keeps you signed in and holds your session state. Set as HTTPOnly and SameSite-protected, and marked Secure when served over HTTPS. | Session / until you log out |
| CSRF token | Protects forms and requests against cross-site request forgery, so a third-party site cannot act on your behalf. | Session |
2. Preferences stored in your browser
These are kept in your browser's local storage (not sent to our servers) and simply remember how you like the site to behave:
| Key | Purpose |
|---|---|
| greenmining_theme_v3 | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. |
| notification preferences | Remembers which in-app notification toggles you enabled in Settings. |
| terms accepted | Remembers that you ticked the acceptance box when activating a contract, so you are not asked repeatedly. |
| one-time notices | Remembers which product announcements or introductory tours you have already seen, so they do not reappear. |
You can clear these at any time from your browser settings. Doing so simply resets your preferences — it will not delete your account or your data.
3. Third-party content
Some pages load resources from third-party networks. These providers may see your IP address and basic request information when the resource loads:
- Google Fonts — typefaces used across the site.
- cdnjs (Cloudflare) — icon library.
- QR code service — used to render the QR code for your deposit address on the deposit page.
We do not control what these providers do with that request data. Please refer to their own privacy notices.
4. Managing cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and local storage. Note that if you block the essential cookies listed in section 1, you will not be able to sign in or use your account — that is a technical limitation, not a choice on our part.
- Chrome — Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data
- Firefox — Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari — Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge — Settings → Cookies and site permissions
5. Changes
If we start using cookies for any new purpose, we will update this page and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
